We took a page out of the first-generation’s playbook to celebrate the start of year 17 for Ahab and I.
Step 1: Find a cabin (with no service)
Step 2: Trick some friends to join you
Step 3: Play a lot of card games
Step 4: Have a little too much fun
Step 5: Center it around a lawn gnome that makes it all possible
We did a lot of adventuring on this trip, but in true first-generation fashion, we didn’t take any pictures. Okay, obviously I am not a saint and we took one. Besides that, all we have from this trip are stories that will be “big-fished” each time they are remembered and shared!
Look at all the hidden gems we found hiking around the campus grounds! It always pays to show up early (and no that isn’t a lesson in the presentation!) Southern Vermont College was a motivating place and the group of incoming students set the bar high for the 2017-2018 speaking season!
Fun fact: The Bennington Battle Monument is exactly 303 feet, 7.5 inches taller than Captain Ahab. Though Ahab’s been cross-training for the 417 step ascent, we were relieved to make our way to the observation deck with a little help from the world’s lawn-gnome-friendliest elevator operator for a tristate view of the foliage and interactions with new friends. We’re excited to have checked off this first stop on our tour of Vermont’s Historic Sites, so stay tuned for more!
We haven’t been to the ‘top of the hill’ in Burlington for at least a decade… it was nice to stop back for the evening!
Nothing like an early morning boat ride on Lake St. Catherine!
Dew Tour always has some unique characters running around!
Burlington Vermont never will disappoint you … as long as it is not winter when you visit!
If we never finish the passport…we will just have to keep going back!
You always remember your very second first Dew Tour!!
Yes, we would like complimentary passes to Mount Snow’s Brewers Festival!!
We aren’t novices when it comes to Magic Hat, but we aren’t yet pros either!!
You always remember your very first Dew Tour!!
